Chasing the Golden Flotilla: Sunset Nuances Across Lake Pichola

Location: Udaipur, India

There is a twenty-minute window in Udaipur when the setting sun strikes the marble ripples of Lake Pichola, transforming the entire city into an amber dreamscape.

Shooting from Water

Documenting a royal baraat arriving on decorated heritage flotillas presents unique physical challenges. The natural swell of the water demands stabilized gimbal rigs that work in tandem with the boat's momentum rather than fighting it.

We position secondary cameras on opposing barges to catch the silhouettes of the bride and groom against the glowing facade of the City Palace as dusk deepens.

“Water has memory. When bathed in golden light, it turns every motion into poetry.”
